Captain Kevin Pirkle Fishing
Report:
The trout are along all of the
color changes. Up north towards the drum boat has been
loaded with trout. There are so many undersized fish
in the area that I’ve pretty much left them alone.
The color change on the west side
has been producing its fair share of trout. It is just
so rough coming back if you’re going out of the
Island. Live shrimp and a popping cork are almost
guaranteed to get fish in the boat.
I’ve found reds in Cullen bay.
Gold spoons or cut ballyhoo are the ticket. With the
tides staying up all day, you can really fish the
whole bay without getting your feet wet wading.
A good place to end the day for a
meal is at the Texas Moon. They have a little bit of
everything, but the steaks are incredible.
Get out on the water or book a
guide. This is some of the best fishing of the year.
See you next week.
